Get Roddy to 40!
Glad I was able to wake up for this. This kid has one of the most effortless shots I've ever seen. It's just a flick of the wrists. Quite amazing.

I am close to laughing out loud. I really am. I cannot believe how stubbornly you are sticking to this terrible, terrible take.

Roddy and Carroll both have the same number of rebounds as they have 3ptrs.

The 1st question a Dallas reporter needs to ask Carlisle is "How does a player, who scores almost 40pts, get a DNP the previous night and this late in the season? Explain."

Uh yeah it is. What on earth are you basing this on, Bayliss? Where are all the players that are shooting that percentage for their career? Maybe if this turns out to be a career year for Curry that doesn't look amazing, but the best is still to come for this kid.
By the way, his dad had one year where he shot 47.6% from three and another year where he shot 42.8% from three those were the only two years he had shooting better than the numbers he's currently putting up. And after tonight Curry may be tied with his daddy's second best year this season.

The only "take" I am sticking to is that I don't believe he is all "that" as a pure shooter.
And I think he is much more polished as a rookie compared to a lot of other rookies that have entered the league recently because he has more experience than lots of other rookies....

You know what I learned tonight?
Stevenson is just utterly done. That back injury has robbed him of all his lift and he has no spring in step. Slow footed and cannot jump. Boy is he going to be out of the league soon.

What does it take to be a pure shooter? That's what I don't get.
Curry's shooting is the number one part of his game, he hits a ton of threes and other jumpers, and he does so with a picture perfect release.
What else does it take?

great game all around, and Roddy, if you don't PT from mr RC, i am so so sorry in advance. you deserve all the mins you can get. yes, its GW. yes, they gave up midway thru the game. but damn it it's still an NBA game against an NBA team, and he just was amazing hands down. if he can be even close to this in the playoffs, which i'm sure he can, he could provide that "Marquis Daniels" or "2007 reg season J-Ho" energy boost we need in those tough 7-game series.
SO PROUD OF YOU MY DUKE!!! +RODDY REP FOR EVERYONE!!
GO MAVS!!!

Yeah, the decision by Carlisle not to play him the other night is extremely perplexing.
So let's see:
Milwaukee
Clippers
Chicago
Golden State
Those are 4 games that I can recall in which he made a huge difference in them winning the game.
I am sure there are others I am missing.

40 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots (on 15/21 shooting) ...is there anything left to say?!?

Right, and like I said, that's a ridiculous take. There is quite literally not a single piece of evidence you can point to supporting that viewpoint.

Come on now...Frye's shooting% is no joke. He's shooting 44% from 3s, and Pierce took part in and won the 3pt competition, he's having that kind of year.

Funny thing is I'm wondering why Barea didn't give Roddy the ball at the end...

Its JJ's minutes that Roddy may take. There was a fast break opporunity too where JJ passed to Carroll instead of kicking to Roddy. However, when the kid has 40 points, I don't really think one more three will change Carlisle's perception.

But one more three would have allowed our rookie to break the record for most threes made against the Golden State Warriors. Thanks a lot JJ, and no I'm not whining about this because its not a big deal. But honestly, it does kind of get under my skin.

Was at the game. Roddy was simply amazing. Wanting to see him much more than the 5-6 he gets, I was cringing every time he jacked one, but screaming as it went through the net. Then everything he tossed up was gold. Take that RC!! Played all of the 1st half after he first got in. There was one missed where he missed everything but the back board, and RC called a timeout soon after, I was like, dude you're up 30, everyone in the house knew you don't take this guy out nor get in his ear for that jack. Seems RC wanted to, eyeing Roddy as he got back to the bench.
