Um, how does 23 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 blocks and 2 steals in a single game hurt his team?

lol this was so funny to read. jthig u were tottaly on the money.
I remember Oden getting drafted over Kevin Durant, and everyone was like Oden is gonna be such a beast and stuff and everyone was hating on Durant except for me.
Teams should have learned that you draft for talent, not for need after Kwame.

I would trade Dirk for Oden in a heartbeat. That would assure us the champianship. We would get all the calls. I mean who would dare to piss of the head Norse God of Valhalla.

Yes, but only if we can throw in Roddy and get Brandon Roy's bad leg back in return.

Being completely serious, I stand behind everything I said (minus some of the name calling) because, at the time, none of it was ridiculous given the facts that were there. A bum wrist that was expected to heal completely shouldn't have led to a complete lack of functional knees. But of course all of this looks humorous now given the career that Durant has had, what Dirk has continued to accomplish and the almost zero that Oden has done. And of course an Asshole like Murph enjoys getting a couple final shots in on someone he's argued with on this board more than most.
So revel in it - I truly couldn't care less. I'm MaleAlmost36Dan now and it is couldn't possibly mean any less to me that I was (and oh yes, let the record show that I absolutely was) completely and totally wrong. That said, as for that ass hat that asked how I feel now, honest to God, for the reasons I outlined previously, I would've drafted Oden that night and I would've expected him to become just what I hyped him to be. Same as Portland's brass thought.
What might've been had he been able to stay even somewhat healthy. Oh well... I'll pour one out to the brittle sand-like knees of a damn fine talent that became a never-was.

You're still wrong. But Nice try. A full-strength, injury-free Oden still would have never touched Dirk's career. He just wasn't a fraction as talented at the game of basketball. Really that simple/

I dunno, his son has proven that gene pool is stocked full of basketball talent.

Jesus - read before posting bro. Never suggested making that trade. I was being called out for how highly I thought of Oden in general. I said point blank I would never make that trade despite those high thoughts I had of Oden. That all having been said, you could've said Durant and had a solid point potentially (as I absolutely did say I would draft Oden over Durant based on Oden's potential), but again, it's impossible to know for sure because we don't know what a full-strength, injury-free Oden career looks like and never will.
