@WindhorstESPN
Heat on track to get deals with Dwyane Wade & Udonis Haslem done. They're talking with Luol Deng but sides far apart, sources said.

I still think Melo stays and Houston matches. Means of the bigger names just Deng, Ariza, Gasol and Lance left. My wild guess right now is thar Deng gonna party with 60m in Miami, the Wiz (over-)pay Ariza, Knicks doing some moves to offer Gasol 10m and we end up with another Monta Ellis and get Lance+Marion for the 15m...
Lance plus Trix....yes. Add a cheap big like Ed Davis. Let's play ball.

If we fail on Parsons....what about dumping Wright off, giving Gasol and Lance 10 mil each... then try to get Birdman to round out 4/5 rotation...and hopefully find a way to keep Vince.

Paul Coro @paulcoro
The trade call that will make Isaiah Thomas a #Suns player is delayed to Saturday. Did something else happen today to occupy the NBA office?

@ESPNSteinLine: Grizzlies, I'm told, pressing tonight to try to finalize an agreement with Vince Carter after learning Mike Miller is headed elsewhere

@espn_macmahon: Mavs had been confident they could keep Vince Carter, but all they could offer was $2.73M exception. Other candidates: Mo Williams, Birdman

Wow. 4mill a year for a guy who will be 38 1/3 of the way through the season. Wonder if the third year is team option or they'll be paying him at 40.

Sounds like 2 years guaranteed, 3rd partially... Don't know about options.

Well at least with Pierce we upgrade on defense. Truth has about 1 year to start and 2 years left to be efficient at something. Plus Carlisle loves coaching vets like him.

Don't think Pierce upgrades defense at SF at all. Not at all. He played a ton of PF last year.

There def. is some validity to your statement aside from the comment on D. It just brings me the opposite of a smile to my face. If we go from Parsons to Pierce I seriously might cry. Stephenson please remain patient!

Through this all, I still think Dallas could be okay if Parsons doesn't work.

If I were Ariza, I'm waiting to see what Dallas does.

I was sure he'd retire a Mav. Honestly I dont blame him although it wouldve been nice if he couldve waited until sunday to watch Houston match.

I would have liked that, but on the other hand he spent 6.5 years with Toronto, 4.5 with NJ, and only 3 seasons with us. We all loved him, but he's a guy who wants to compete till 40 and earn the paycheck that goes along with that. I don't hold it against him that he took such a lucrative contract, but I will be sad to see him go-- mostly as a person and leader for us. It'll be sad seeing him play when we're beating Memphis next year.

He was the glue for our second string. Most certainly going to miss his PNR with Wright.

I thought Diaw re-upped with the Spurs?

No thanks to Ariza either. I just can't see him being worth the asking price.

Just keeps shrinking but some decent names still up there including a pair of pretty good SFs.
You're missing Andray Blatche. I think he's a good tweener big man.

I really wish they'd go after Blatche. There's a few guys out there. If they have no interest in Stephenson....i'd rather sign a few guys like Blatche, Ed Davis and Evan Turner than just use all that money on one guy. I'd even look at Aminu though he has no jumper.

I would add Troy Daniels too. Really interesting player but looks like James want him in Cleveland....

Even if there are no rumours linking us to this players we should add them as potential targets, since some of the linked guys are gone...

Blatche

@WojYahooNBA: Pau Gasol, Chicago working to complete an agreement, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

I'm getting this odd hunch. Boozer gets amnestied to free up space for Chicago to sign melo...

If that does play out. Who can see Boozer also being an option? He's a vet PF who can shoot decent. Pair him up next to Wright off the bench you could have something to work with. But would he agree to play off the bench?
