Has anyone heard any news about resigning Raja Bell? (Or any of our FA's for that matter) Bell's not a real good player, but I definitely want him back on the team. And maybe the Wizard . . .

Raja Bell IS a really good player. Nellie was too stupid to realize it, and it cost us Game Six. Had Raja played in the second half, we would have won that game. Instead, he kept Can't Dribble Finley and Can't Pass Nash on the floor when they were playing like garbage.

It would be the single most stupid move of the Mavs front office to lose Bell.

It was bad that the Bucks matched the offer sheet for Redd, but Bell turned out to be Redd.

Yeah his stats weren't as good, but he didn't take as many shots and is a better defender.

He is the second youngest on the Mavs, and is a perfect back up for Fin-dog.

I would even play him at back up pg if we traded Nick. Or i would start him at 2 if Fin-dog got traded.

The playoff performance her gave was not a one time thing, he did it in Philly.

Resigning Bell would be smart....doubt Cuban will do it for that reason.

It has been reported they aren't doing anything with the MLE (and I assume the LLE) until after Miller lands somewhere. However, that shouldn't stop them from resiging Bell if indeed they want him.

If they do want him maybe they are waiting to see what kind of offers he gets before making an offer, but if so, that is risky.

Brad Miller isn't going to make our team significantly better, if he makes it better at all. I'd rather go after Odom. At least show him we're interested. Maybe he'll take the exception.

He won't take the exception, but if we could sign and trade, maybe

Finley, and NVE for
Odom and Maggette

It gets the Mavs alot younger, and athletic, and drug prone.

But Raja is more important to the Mavs then Miller will ever be.

Finley makes too much money. Thanks, Cuban. I'd make that deal in a second, though.

I wouldn't mind getting Marcus Camby. When he's healthy, he's one of the best shot blockers and rebounders in the league. Think they'd take Bradley and a pick or cash...or Johnson?

Thats why it would be a sign and a trade.

And if we didn't give Fin-dog that money, he would have gotten it from Chicago. It was neccisary, and a good move with the cards he was dealt.

Now thats a good trade. If I were Cuban, I'd offer that easily. Of course now we wouldnt have a back up pg, but we could use the exception to get someone.

Play Raja at the back up 1, a pre season game against Sac-town he played 1. He tore them up, atleast in my book, he would be able to hold his own.

yeah, they need to keep Raja. His performance in the playoffs was solid and he's a good defender. I sometimes cringe when he shoots, but he surprised me a few games this year. It'd be a big loss if they didn't resign him...especially since it doesn't appear they will get anyone to replace him in free agency

Well to me it seemed every open jump shot he took hit nothing but net.

And he does have a very good shot from the baseline 3. He also see's the court very well, and along with Finley, usually makes the extra pass when needed.

I still think Bell would make a good combo guard. If resigned, would like him to get some time at PG during preseason, along with Daniels.

IF Bell and Daniels both can provide spot duty at PG, it sure would help the bench.

Well how good is Daniels, yeah he put up good numbers, and had a 38 point game. BUT we are talking about the summer league, which is basically rookie's and wash ups. If we were to trade Nick for a 3 or 5, would he be able to handle 25 minutes or more.

sock, Daniels is a great player, but he's going to be a rookie. 25 min. for any rookie would be much. I don't expect him to play that much, but becoming the thrid point for next year with Raja, AJ, and Daniels all pitching in next year would be smart. That is only if we trade NVE. Nash is the starting point guard, no reason he can't play around 35 min. that leaves 13 min. to fill, let them all split it. I think Daniels is a real talent and a nice prosect to grow in our system. You probably should watch him play if you have a chance.

Well Nash does have an injury in his hip that makes him more vunerable to fatigue, and he is known to blow him self out alot.

yes, but he has not missed a game in the last two years. Hopefully the hip problem will get resolved over the offseason with rest and theorpy. BUT I do expect our starting PG to take 30 min. or more.

I tried to go back and find all of his stats from the games, and i could only find out was that he was the leading scorer for 2 games, and had 15, and 14.

But i have heard that he had a 38 point game last friday, so i was wondering can anybody get a link for all of his stats so far.
