Yeah, I think it'll be low scoring too. Spurs will dictate the tempo. I give the edge to the Spurs merely because they've been together longer.

Spurs by 6, 96-90.

Is Bradley out tonight, or is it a game time decision? I know his knee is bothering him, but I haven't heard whether or not he's playing.

If he's out, I like the Spurs chances much more. Bradley D's up Duncan probably as well as anyone. If he does play, I still think the Spurs win, but it's going to come down to the last couple of possessions. I believe that the Nash/Parker matchup is going to be key.

Good luck to your Mav's tonight (but not TOO much luck!).

I think the only real threats they have who can bust the zone are Bowen and Parker. They haven't been to consist with their shooting so far. I would rather have Manu shooting the three than him creating havoc inside. The Spurs lost Jackson, Kerr and Ferry who were zone busters to me. I think Mavs swarm Duncan and take their chance inside. I think we will see some Walker on Duncan and we will be surprised at his defense.

We really just have to keep the guards in check. We let Randolph & Wallace combine for something like 50 pt & 28 boards & still pulled that on out. Not to say the same will happen every night, but if the offense is clicking, the Mavs should be able to take a 2-0 series advantage.

I think Dirk and Duncan both do their thing. I think Walker will get 15-20, but will have to shoot a lot to get it. I think the key will be what Parker and Nash do, and what the respective benches do. Horry will get a lot of Rasho's minutes, since he matches up better against Dirk.

I was talking to a Spurs fan last night about the Dallas zone vs. Spurs back court (she of course called to let me know greatness was descending upon the metroplex) . The Spurs still seem to have a tendency to lock up whenever Duncan is surrounded. Ginobli's really struggling from the perimeter, so I'm not worried about him too much. If Parker's game gets hot, he could be a deal breaker.

But since the Mavs are doing so well at home, I guess I'd give them the edge. I hope Steve has another good night and Dirk's ankle isn't bothering him too much.

Mavs 114
Spurs 108

Najera bugs Duncan but he still is too short for the skyhook thing Duncan does
Nowitzki if playing will be more than enough for Nestie
no delk for Manu, but I see Howard finding some time

Nope, not when you guys scored only 81 points against the Spurs without TD. I think the Spurs defense will dictate the game.

Erica, from what I've read about Dirk, there's no question that he'll be ready for tonight's game even though he's officially listed as 'questionable'
Bradley is probably out though.

Franchise, I think the Spurs and Mavs played at a time when the Mavs offense was completely lost. They've been on a pretty decent roll the past 4 games. So, unless they suddenly completely lose their shot, I would expect at least one of the teams to reach triple digits. But, that's just my humble opinion. We'll have to wait and see.

stevie, you make a valid point. The Mavs do score and play better at home, though -- to the tune of over 111 ppg. I think the Mavs will still run into a pretty tough defense in SA, but they'll score at least in the 90's -- bank on that.

Dirno posted the 111 ppg stat right before I did. What an amazing discrepancy.

Hah, I just remembered Da Bears skit in SNL. Adapted: "Mavs 427, Spurs 12, but Dirk will have an off night and will be held to just under 200 points." This will be a tough game, hopefully the spurs will get caught up in the uptempo game... that will almost guarantee us a victory.

"I think we will see some Walker on Duncan and we will be surprised at his defense."

>>> I hope it's a PLEASANT surprise this time instead of the debacle he had against Randolph... but then again, Randolph was practically unstoppable.

Since Duncan is waaaay less physical than Walker, maybe Toine might stand a chance at keeping TD "working" to get his shots off....

This was SUPPOSED to be a picture of Toine....But I guess even the Forum itself got sick of seeing him...

unfortunatly, this would be a high score in the 2003 NBA....how sad...

I'll the Mavs to roll out one their best overall games of the season....and the Spurs to have no answer..other than TD....(which is usually a pretty good answer....but not enough tonight)

Mavs 110
Spurs 91

Oddly enough, in 4 of the 10 games between the spurs and the mavs last year, both teams scored over 100 points

In 4 of the 10 games last year, neither scored over 100 points

In 2 of the 10 games, one team scored in triple digits while the other team did not.

I thought this would be one of the occasions with both teams scoring in triple digits because:

1. no bradley for the Mavs. So, the mavs will be an even less defensive oriented team than they were in many of the matchups last year. The Spurs should find things even easier around the bucket.

2. no Robinson. The Mavs should have an easier time getting to the bucket.
