Both posts are true...

I would love to have Elton Brand, but I just don't see a way to make it happen. Our best chance would be someone who had an expiring contract this season so they could make a stronger run at Kobe. Even then, it's doubtful. Who trades a 20 pt 10 reb. per game guy? Oh wait, I guess Chicago did...

Elton Brand is a strong, tough player who can get boards and put up decent points on a consistent basis although Im not sure he would be the piece we are looking for.

He plays best while at the 4...well so does Dirk. I suppose we could swtich them on and off the opposing teams best post option though in order to get Brand we would have to give up way too much.

I would rather wait until the offseason and acquire a true center (which is what we really need) than give up too much for an undersized post player.... my only exception would be Ben Wallace but obviously that isnt going to happen

We don't have any players with the talent and with cheap enough contracts to acquire Brand.

I might get ripped for this one but i sort of like this deal

Dallas trades: PF Antoine Walker (15.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 5.2 apg in 37.6 minutes)
PG Steve Nash (14.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 8.2 apg in 33.5 minutes)
Dallas receives: PF Elton Brand (20.1 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 3.6 apg in 38.8 minutes)
SG Marko Jaric (9.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.7 apg in 30.5 minutes)
SF Shandon Anderson (7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.3 minutes)
PG Frank Williams (4.3 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 2.1 apg in 12.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +11.5 ppg, +6.6 rpg, and -1.6 apg.

L.A. Clippers trades: PF Elton Brand (20.1 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 3.6 apg in 38.8 minutes)
SG Marko Jaric (9.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.7 apg in 30.5 minutes)
L.A. Clippers receives: PG Steve Nash (14.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 8.2 apg in 50 games)
C Kurt Thomas (11.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 52 games)
Change in team outlook: -3.1 ppg, -3.0 rpg, and +1.8 apg.

New York trades: SF Shandon Anderson (7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.3 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 32.4 minutes)
PG Frank Williams (4.3 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 2.1 apg in 12.9 minutes)
New York receives: PF Antoine Walker (15.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 5.2 apg in 52 games)
Change in team outlook: -8.4 ppg, -3.6 rpg, and -0.2 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

We now have a lineup of

Dirk/Bradley/Williams
Brand/Jamison/Dirk
Howard/Jamison/Anderson
Howard/Anderson/Jaric
Jaric/Best/Williams

Not saying im all for it...just an idea that would probably work

Jamisonite every one we get in your latest trade proposal is a spare except for Brand. Brand is not worth Walker and Nash. Mavs wouldn't be able to compete until they found another PG or drastically changed their offense. Just flat out not worth the trade.

I think this is an excellent trade for everyone except Chicago. It gets them out of one of their horrendous contracts however so they might do it.
Ive heard Rumors that Memphis is willing to give more than that for Curry so i figured theyd do it
