Default What changes do you see being made if

..we end up losing this series to the Kings?

1. I think Cuban cleans house in the coaching dept. He will most likely give Nellie the boot, which I'm for by the way. Harris looks like he's jumping ship soon also. It would not suprise me to see Cuban go after someone like Pat Riley or a Doc Rivers to be Nellies replacement.

2. I think Walker will be traded...that seems like a no brainer to me. Jamison stays and gets entrenced as a starter, which he should be.

3. Najera may get a bigger role on the team once Nellie is gone. Same goes for Bradley.

4. As usual, we have to find that defensive low post presence. Anybody notice how much Theo Ratliff improved the Blazers? hmmm...something to think about this offseason.

5. I think Nash flurts with leaving but signs back...same goes for Daniels.

6. I won't be suprised to see Finley in a different uniform next year. Either by trade or in a Charlotte uniform.

Anybody else have thoughts on what could be a busy offseason?

My best guess on our starting 5 next year...

pg - Nash
sg - Daniels
sf - Jamison
pf - Nowitzki
c - ????????? (Ratliff/Ostertag)

1) Try to pry Dampier from GS with Walker's contract.
2) Re-sign Nash (3 years...no more than4)
3) Get a coach who will coach defense and develop Dirk
4) Play Marquis and Josh more because with the right coach they could be defensive demons
5) Continue to bring Jamison off the bench for instant offense

1) not quite sure about the Nellie situation
2)Get a big man like Dampier in the free agency or via trade with Walker
3) Re-sign Nash to at least 2 more years, and sign daniels for at least 6
4) Finley will stay a Maverick, which he deserves; unless we trade him for a defensive player like K-Mart

Who was the commentator/coach last night. He seemed intelligent. At least he seems to be able to recognize that dirk/webber is a mis-match.

Is there a way to get Koby if he gets out of LA next season?

Dirk should try to be more complete as a player.....boh defense and offense (more passing the ball, hussle a little more)
Nash should become more effective on his shots every game....
Braddley if he gets playing tme, to play if it was his last game...every game....
Najera,,,well keep up the "good dirty work" get better on offense......shot the ball a little more.....maybe some 3's
Walker....sit at home on his grandpa old chair and watch cartoons all day
Jamison......be the superstar he is expected to be
Howard..keep on playing and keep on learning from the veterans.
Daniels...the same as Howard
Williams....welll no comment......
Fortson.....lose some weight get a little bit stronger and watch a lot of Ben Wallace games to become just like him...
Nelson....take care of his grandsons at home....
Del Harris...good luck with the Chinese...and maybe as General Manager somewhere else.....
Michael Finley....if he stays...stay healthy if not...good luck
for the rest of the guys......no comment........

1.I think the fire nellie talk is wishful thinking.
2.unless Walker wakes up bigtime he's gone, hopefully for Dampier or Ostertag and change
3. It wouldn't surprise me if Daniels got away
4. Williams retires
5. Best is gone
6. Fortson destined to become for Elton Brand what Bradley is for Yao, and spend yet another season in the doghouse

walker is gone man. The only thing about daniels is if he is willing to wait for dallas's bird rights? Does he get them after 1 more year here? I'm afraid he is gone as well.

Walker and Nellie will be back with the Mavs next season. The Mavs will just do exactly what they did this year which is try and add to the roster you already have. I see a Dale Davis type being pursued by the Mavs.

If Nellie and Walker stay anything else won´t matter.

I like BB´s suggestions. Good luck with finding a taker for Fin though. Exept via expansion draft, but the Mavs would be stupid not to protect him. Yeah he has a huge contract and is on the decline, but to lose him for nothing?

one thing i don't want is attitude problem/loser kobe bryant on the mavs. for one, he'd try to take dirks spotlight. two, he'd whine and complain just like he does in l.a. We already have one complainer in walker, we don't need more.

i'd like to see a new center but i don't think dampier will come over for walker. the new is out on walker already.
i'd like to see zydrunas ilgauskas come over or some other player that can score and block shots.
i see the lineup undecided right now

C ???
dirk
jamison? (maybe better off the bench? we def. need a tall person here though. 6'8-6'9 or so)
finley or howard or daniels(a toss up)
nash

i'd like to see the mavs go after linus kleiza because he's psyhco-agressive and possibly ilgauskas, for the blocks and matchup probs. plus Z can score a lot more than bradley.

If you can't upgrade your coach aka Phil Jackson or Pat Riley no need to change coaches.
Trade Finley and Walker no matter what you get back. Addition by subtraction both guys need the ball in their hands neither one makes good decisions with the ball. Finley is just a jumpshooter now. Walker boggs the offense down and always seems to come with a bad decision following a good one. Daniels and Howard would make the mavs instantly better with more minutes. They both rebound the ball well, play defense and can get to the hole.

The mavs need more defined roles like go to guy, stopper, second, third and fourth option.

Not interested in Dampier one good season doesn't prove anything. Especially for a bad team like Golden State.
The mavs need a defender that can defend the perimeter as well as the post. Keon Clark, Nazr Mohammed.

everything you said was good til you said the above. nazr mohammed hasn't proved himself. he's also dampier like. and you've got to be kidding, keon clark? ridiculous....

i absoultely hate phil jackson. i'd rather have bil laimbeer coach the team instead of hippie/freak/heart attack philbert

chemistry is so important. just the addition of walker took the mavs pretty much a season to adjust to.
and are we fully adjusted?? wonder who would win in mavs 04 vs mavs 03?

right now i'd say it'll be darn close. that's why i think this sac series is far from over. i say we got all the pieces to win.
we already have the talent.

bye bye to:

antoine walker, michael finley, don F. nelson and possibly steve nash

hello:

jamison starting, najera getting 30 mins, bradley seeing significant time, marquis as full time PG, Josh howard starting at SG

rebuilding the bench and signing/trading for one or two big names
