Tim Thomas
Do u guys think it would work out somehow if we traded for Tim..I kno he has a bad reputation and is a under achiever...but we have turned guys like that into great contributers in the past so maybe we could do it with him. He is a very versitile player and might b able to help us...So what are some of the trades that would work and would it be worth it????

I would take him, if they would take Damp in return, TT's contract expires after this year, so that would help get damp's contract off their hands.

the problem is who to trade? TT is a max player so you have to match up those numbers for it to work. Damp contract alone wont do it unless you throw in like a P pod but thats not worth it . The only deal that works straight up is Dirk for TT or KVH for TT and both of those are out of the question.

Tim Thomas is a cancer that has been in losing programs wherever he has landed. I wouldn't touch him for the vet minimum with his attitude and lack of overall game.

They were both FAR better players than Tim Thomas.. a former scoring champion in Stack and a former quarterback of an NBA championship squad in Nick..

Tim Thomas' s lack of effort and overall distaste for defense would not work on this team. He has been traded (Once...maybe Twice?) for KVH before. The team he left got better and the team he went to got worse.
We certainly don't need a no effort, no defense, malcontent on this young team.

We have KVH who is a better fit for the Mavs. Although it would be nice to have a 6'10" SF, I don't think Tim Thomas is the one we want.
Even if we got him for some other combination of salaries than KVH, I would rather continue giving Josh Powell some development time than give those minutes to TT. Thomas will want play starter-type minutes to be happy.
