So, who is starting at point guard?
DH or AJ?
and why don't we know yet?
all preseason signs seem to point to AJ, right?
though all preseason play would clearly point to DH.
is there anything conclusive out there?
and what are your thoughts?

I actually had a dream last night that Devin was starting.
and yes, I'm ready for the season to start.

Starter by match-ups....but if Parker isn't playing, AJ can guard manu while terry chucks up the threes. I say Harris if Parker plays, AJ if he doesn't.

DH ftw
honestly though it could change game-to-game depending on what style of play we need.

Too bad Buckner isn't close to as good of a player as AJ or DH. Otherwise, I'd start him.

going only by the Mavs-Spus preseason game last Friday night, I saw very
little "penetrate-and-dish" by AJ. This was one of the problems last year
at our pg position. I guess I got spoiled by watching Nash.
This method doesn't have to happen all tthe time but it does keep the defense guessing.

This is what is speculated as being our starting lineup...
PG - Jet
SG - Buck
SF - J-Ho
PF - Dirk
C - Damp
Avery did say that Jet and Buck would be his starting two gaurds.
He said that as far as he knows Jet has been his starting PG not SG. Said that
Jet has won alot of games for the Mavs starting at PG.
Also found interesting that AJ said that Croshere would not be receiving alot of playing time but
is confident that he could contribute if injuries did occur during the season. This puts a HUGE smile
on my face

AC was never going to see much time behind Dirk. Not with Deven G. to back up JHo.
Buck as starter.....ugh. that leaves us pretty much only three offensive option on any given play.

I don't mind Buck starting, but I have a hard time figuring out how both AJ and Devin fit in the rotation if one is not the starting PG.

Not mine, it means failure to address an adequate backup for dirk...Avery will be very tempted to play him too much.

I don't think what AJ said about Croshere is a negative. Obviously Dirk's backup won't see that much time.
Croshere will be more than adequate in that position. That position was addressed appropriately, imo.

At first I thought Avery was just trying to push the kid with all the AJ talk, but now at this point right before the season starts and we're still having this conversation?
I dont know if it's healthy for either of them, not having a defined role. I know he did it with the centers to great effect last year, but do you suppose that kind of messes with them after a while? I'm all for matching up, but you don't go switching your quarterback every game....

I'm a little disappointed to hear that Devin isn't starting, but I've actually been expecting it to be Terry/Buck.
