Default Lakers schedule has been cake

You've got to be kidding me. No wonder the Laker are near the top in the Western Conference. Do the Lakers ever play away from Staples? They did play the other night on the road....at Staples too! This better catch up with them.

I'm not worried about them at all.

The NBA made this schedule so all the bball critics can get an early nut-hug on Kobe.

I think they have the most favorable opening schedule in the league. It was very important for them to get off to a good start cause it's only going to get harder. Didn't help the Kobe's comming into the season off a surgery to his knee. I was glad to see the Lakers do well without Kobe and with Kobe not at 100%. Walton and Odom have been really good, Evans and Turiaf are exactly what the Lakers needed to be competitive.

Can't wait to see how they do against the Mavs.

Good luck.

You can make all kinds of conclusions from partial information.

The cutoff on this schedule was nicely placed. After the San Antonio game, the Lakers play 8 of the next 10 games on the road, and they have four games against Texas teams the week of the 10th.

Funny how the point of the thread is that the Lakers have had a cake schedule SO FAR and their lofty record may be a result. The cutoff on this schedule was just pointing this out. When you get a bunch of home games and wins early in the season it give your team hope and confidence. Remember when Nellie would complain about the Mavs playing mostly road games early in the season?

So some teams have long home stands that "build confidence", then have to go on a long road trip that crushes it. It all evens out in the long run. 41 games at home, 41 on the road. Even in the case when the Lakers play the Clippers, a "road" game has half a stadium of friendly fans, but a "home" game has half a stadium of enemy fans.

Do all teams play the same number of back-to-backs though? If not, that would be a much more worthy topic.
