Default Go after FA Anderson Varejao?

PF/C Anderson Varejao is a FA after the season and with Croshere and Stack coming off the books maybe we could afford to go after him. It'd be nice to have another Ed Najera-energy+hustle type on the roster again, someone who likes to rebound, set picks, D against the other team's best post player, etc. basically do all the dirty work freeing up Dirk to do his thing. Varejao would be a nice replacement for Croshere behind Dirk and against smaller lineups he and Dirk would be a nice starting post pairing.

Gerald Wallace, Maurice Williams, Corliss Williamson, Desmond Mason, and Morris Peterson will also be FA's. If we don't re-sign Stack, we'd need someone to replace his bench scoring. Mason and Peterson can provide that, plus they're decent-if-not-spectacular defenders. Starting Gerald Wallace at SG/SF to go along with Harris and Howard would give us great D on the perimeter.

Varejao would be an awesome addition... we don`t need firepower from the 4 position but hustle! Varejao off the bench would be nice, and he might even start some games against other skilled big man

Who would we give up for this deal? Varejo is better than Cro, no doubt, but I'd never give up Stack in any type of trade to get him... It doesn't seem like we'd be able to work a deal to get Varejo + a decent replacement for Stack...

I'm very biased on this matter as I'd love to see a Brazilian player playing on Dallas, but I think he'll sign with the cavs again, he should sign for cheap enough that it won't be a big deal to them, and I predict it to be a done as soon as possible.

Varejo is a free agent after the season, we'd be signing him not trading for him.

Definitely an upgrade over Cro, if it's possible go for it.

I think Varejao would be a great signing. I might make Corliss Williamson the second choice. He should be cheap and available, and though he's old he can still score inside.

Are you referring to his hair or his play?

By the way, I'd love to pick up Gerald Wallace but I'm not sure the full MLE will be enough to steal him from Charlotte.
