I'd be surprised and impressed if Utah wins 2 against the whiney "why doesn't anyone respect us???" Rockets

Crazy, everyone but me is picking Dallas/Detroit in the Finals. That's exactly why I don't think it'll be those two, it's too predictable. It's rare that both #1 seeds make it to the Finals.

I guess I just don't see the Cavs having enough to make it passed even Toronto. Don't get me wrong I like Lebron alot, and I think in one or two years he could be a one man team, but not yet. And definitely not this year.
As for the rarity of 2 #1's making it, you are correct, but if it were to happen any year I'm betting it will be this year (in fact, Detroit may have a better chance of being their than Dallas).

If anyone's got a Facebook, the NBA's running a bracket contest there to be "commisioner for a day" and get to attend the ring ceremony later this year.

Just for fun, I ran the tournament through a random number generator, where the teams were weighted based on nothing more than simple W-L record (anything to give the Mavs an advantage, right? ) Obviously lots of weird things happened.
Round 1:
Mavs 4 Warriors 2
Jazz 4 Rockets 0
Nuggets 4 Spurs 3
Suns 4 Lakers 2
Pistons 4 Magic 2
Heat 4 Bulls 2
Nets 4 Raptors 2
Wizards 4 Cavaliers 1
Round 2:
Mavs 4 Jazz 3 (after falling behind 0-3!)
Suns 4 Nuggets 2
Pistons 4 Heat 2
Wizards 4 Nets 2
Round 3:
Mavs 4 Suns 2
Pistons 4 Wizards 1
Round 4:
Mavs 4 Pistons 2 (after falling behind 0-2)

Well it got the final result right, so it must be right!!!
Who would've known that Spurs would be taken out by the Nuggets.

After seeing this on ESPN. I thought I'd see if those who participated in making predictions would like to keep score on how each of us do. I've transfered the predictions so far into a spreadsheet. I'm willing to tally after each round (5 points for correct outcome w/ 2 pt bonus for game count).
Make sure you update (in a new post) for subsequent rounds if any of your outcomes fails.

The Toronto/NJ series might screw quite a few people over... I think Toronto is losing the series.

Just repick (in a new post) in the next round if they get knocked out. I thought about throwing in a point for picking a 2nd+ round series up front, but I'll just keep it simple: Each round is a clean slate for everyone to pick.
