Why not? We get some low post scoring, get rid of the size problem at the 2 as well as a pretty good backup for Harris. Saves a lot of money too.

Ugh, James and Davis are not players that championship contenders look for. Blount really isn't very good either.

If your going to do this just leave out Blount, 34th pick and Damp.
why waste the pick.

Lonnie is right, the trade does not make us better. I don't like it at all.

Blount is NOT a low-post scorer at all.. he's a midrange shooter who hates contact and is rarely willing to drive unless he's in transition.. no thanks.

Minnesota also gets even more salary cap screwed than they already are and they don't get significantly better. No one wants Terry or Dampier at the salaries they're making. They're pretty much untradeable, unless you're talking about the mavs taking an equally bad contract in return.

I figured they would be willing to pay some money to try and win now. They don't have that many more chances with KG.
Even if blount takes too many jumpshots at least he can score. When dampier or diop is on the floor it is 4 on 5.

5 years, almost $50 mil left on that deal. Terry's going to be 30 to start next season. He's a nice player but are teams really going to want to commit to paying the guy $10mil/yr well into his mid 30s? Especially considering there are going to be free agents out there who can be had a hell of alot cheaper.

It's tough... but there's always a chance when you're willing to take back a bad contract. But given how valuable that PnR play is between him and Dirk, we might just keep him and play him like SA does Manu... off the bench!
