Default No Extension For Biedrins

Agent: No Extension For Biedrins
October 29, 2007 - 1:42 pmSan

Francisco Chronicle - Bill Duffy, the agent for center Andris Biedrins, said Sunday there will be no contract extension for his client after negotiations with the Warriors on a long-term deal ended with "significant" differences on Biedrins current value.

Duffy was seeking a five-year deal worth substantially more than $50 million. The Warriors' offer was substantially less than $50 million. The gap was large enough that talks did not progress to a serious degree.

"Their opinion is that they can pay him that next summer," Duffy said. "That's true, but we think his value will increase.

"The way this game is evolving, he's one of the top five young interior players in the NBA, in my opinion. He's 21 years old, he has the experience, he's confident and everyone knows his character and work ethic."

His shooting form in negative rep is comparable to Dirk's form in positive rep. =/

Well maybe if he'd pronounce his last name like it's spelled, they'd give him some more money.

Tough break for that kid.

Could be difficult for him to generate stats that warrant big-$$$ playing with you-know-who. Unless he suddenly develops a lethal 3-stroke.

He needs to play for someone who values low-post play and defense.

Anyone have Biedrins's email address? I got some emails about getting an extension that might interest him.

Unless he fails to improve or has some major injury someone will pay him if the Warriors lowball him again when the time comes. He's played well enough and teams have taken notice so if he becomes a problem or the Warriors try to sabotage his career then there will be teams out there to pay him. Of course he may choose to leave on his own for lesser money if he feels the Warriors wronged him.
