Default Bloggers versus Journalists

Interesting post by strata-sphere got me thinking about the differences between getting information from bloggers versus journalists. The post isn't about that but his statement at the end got me thinking about it. A snippet

Journalists cannot grasp dangerous technologies
Let’s face it, journalism majors are not prepared to grasp or understand complex technologies - especially those on the cutting edge of humanity’s current technology base. This is blatantly apparent in this story about the Iran NIE. Begin with the basic conclusion of the article, apparent in its title:
I've gotten to the point where I never want analysis from journalists. Of any stripes to be honest. I almost always turn to bloggers these days. I think it's because the bloggers know more than the journalists, especially about the topics they like to write about.

Legal issues, climate control, economics, etc.

It's actually remarkable that with the advent of the internets and blogging that so much expertise has become available.
Quite remarkable really.
