You'll be hard pressed to find a better shooting performance. When Roddy plays, he always makes an impact. Tonight though was just insane. I don't think anyone realize how good of a shooter this kid is.
15-22 FG, 9-11 3PFG,
40 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks in only 29 minutes
masterful performance.. that's all you can say. He was dominating.

Gotta love this kid - lets hope that RC finally realises that we need him on a regular basis.

That was fun. I was not sure if it's worth it to get up at 5 a.m. on a Sunday, but got up when the score was 16:21, just in time to watch Roddy's coming-out party unfold.
So cold blooded!

I remember he broke his career high two games in a row back when he was filling in for JET.
I'd love to see it happen again.

Roddy was absolutely phenomenal. Amazing night for the rookie.

I'm amazed at how refined his scoring ability is. Treat to watch from a rookie coming from some second-rate Euro league.

Well, I am sure Carlisle will have some reason why he can't play against Denver Monday night.

I thought he put up a few bad threes, including a few of the ones he made, but overall this was truly an incredible performance by the rook. I respect Carlisle and most of his decisions, but the kid's gotta play.

Wow. That was an amazing performance, especially on the road. We flat out just dominated the dubs, Ellis looked pissed off that Beaubois was scoring and locking him up early. Roddy just flat out dominated this game, its going to be great for his confidence. Roddy's popularity is going to rise quite a bit because of this game...

Man when teams start double teaming this guy, our players are going to be WIDE open. I'm still in shock!!

The last 2 minutes were weird. If you have a young player going nuts you keep feeding him for his career night. Few times it looked like Barea not even try to find him and MC and Stevenson also jacking up some crap...
Any news on Haywood and Damp?
Dont wanna stop the party but without them we are toast against the Nuggets....

Anyone see this? Sounds like bs to me...NBA has no way of knowing what Butler really said. If the ref says he went to far, then that's the only way the NBA could know. And the ref doesn't know the whole story...its very likely that the guy Butler was talking with had cussed him out. Pretty stupid.

Speak your mind. Barea was hating or showing why his Bball IQ is low.

I decided to tabulate Roddy's stats after this game just for the heck of it:
20.7 points per 36 minutes, 52.5% FG%, and 43.3% 3FG%.
That's pretty friggin' impressive.

Haywood got a cut on his hand? Regardless, after he went out we put Najera in and the points came pouring. So I think tonight Carlisle just stuck with the hot lineup.

ESPN highlights showed one Roddy play (a three pointer). Was it just a bunch of threes or something more?

Haywood jammed his finger, but didn't need x-rays. Sounds like he probably could have come back if necessary, but smallball was working. Damp was suited up and presumably healthy, but didn't play for whatever reason.

RC is saving Roddy. Element of surprise. Opponents won't run plays on Roddy if they're not sure that we're going to use him. And if ever we do, they'd be like, "F**k, who is that kid?" while Roddy drops 40+ pts on them lol

Well he had nine threes so that was a lot of it, but he also hit some nice shots in the lane and finished at the rim well.

I'm guessing it might have just felt that way because you were focusing in on Beaubois so much. I know I sure was. Looked to me like Roddy and Barea were getting along just fine as they were heading to the locker rooms. Perhaps, looks can be deceiving?
Anyhow, I just caught the last 7 minutes or so of this game. The kid shoots it with such ease. Such a quick release on his shot. Makes me feel lucky to be a Mavs' fan. Here's to hoping Carlisle will have done enough development of Roddy to get this kid ready to help during the playoffs. I think some playing time against the Nuggets would do him some good.

ESPN box score at first said Dirk didn't start, seems to be corrected now. Dirk did start, right?

Saw that he hit 3 threes in less than a minute. Must've been ridiculous.

I really want to see Roddy vs the Denver Nuggets. How will he react versus a physical defense such as the Nuggets?

Denver is making us look good lately. And is Denver's defense really that special? ESPN Stats has Denver as the 9th worst defensive team in the league (if you go by points allowed).

I think it would be good for Beaubois to get some minutes against Chauncey. Earlier in the season after watching Roddy play, I thought his upside might be Chauncey-like, and that he would develop to, at the least, a Barbosa-type player. I know Beaubois has a hall of famer like Kidd to emulate his game after, but I'm not so sure he wouldn't be better served to study some tapes on Billups.
