Default Playoffs GDT: Spurs @ Mavs, Game 1, 4/18/2010 7:00pm CDT

F*ck the Spurs. Let's show 'em that their four rings don't make a sh*t. This is our time.

This is our time? This is our time?

This is unbelilevable. You guys are playing like this is a throwaway game up in Rochester.

Who we playing, Rammer?

Sweden.

You're goddamn right, Sweden. In the Olympics!

What's a matter with you? Get your gear on. I said, get your gear on.

On second thought, get your street clothes on, 'cause we got no time for quitters.

Herb!? Nobody'S quitting here!

You worry 'bout your own game. Plenty there to keep you busy.

Bruise on the leg's a hell of a long way from the heart, you candy ass.

What'd you call me?

You heard me.

YOU WANT ME TO PLAY ON ONE LEG? IS THAT IT?

I WANT YOU TO BE A HOCKEY PLAYER!!!

It didn't even occur to me until now that this is the first time we have home court advantage over the Spurs in five times of playing them in the playoffs the last decade.

That's a fine observation, mavspwn. And certainly it has something to do with the great big corncob that we are going shove right up their unsuspecting ass.

On second thought...I don't mean to be rude...but when you paint them as muffins 4 games to 1...does it really matter who started at home first?

Go Mavericks!!!!

By the way, thanks for the early GDT LonghornDub. I'm sure a lot of us are excited about this game.

Too many "fans of convenience" litter the sportsscape with their Duncan jerseys. Too many adolescent idiots who have never set foot in San Antonio, let alone lived there, claim them as their own.

Let this series serve as yet another drop off point for the rickety Spurs bandwagon.

As they fade into obscurity, their artificially swollen fan-base too will dwindle.

To put it in a nutshell:

F@#$ 'em.

Marion guarding Ginobili (I assume) will be the key to the series. I expect Marion to make him work awfully hard for everything he gets.

Thats the x-factor.

On Spurstalk everyone talks how Marion wont have a chance to guard Gino. They bring up 2005 and 2007 with the Suns and that Marion cant fight through screens and that Gino always makes Marion his bitch.

We gonna see.

Well it's not like Marion is the only option. I imagine Kidd will get some extended run on him as well. And Roddy might even get a chance.

The only western conference team that has beaten every NBA team. The most complete maverick team ever. We have three tough wing players in Butler, Marion and Stevenson. We have the best 7 foot shooter in the game with Dirk. The only thing left on his hal of fame resume is an NBA title.

Ugh...

Quote:
DALLAS -- Bennett Salvatore, who forever cemented his status as a villain in Dallas during Game 5 of the 2006 Finals, will work the Mavs-Spurs opener.

And he isn't the only controversial ref on the Game 1 crew, according to a list of assignments published by AOL Fanhouse.

Remember Bill Kennedy? He's the only ref ever to hit Dirk Nowitzki with two technicals and toss him, which happened during a March game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Dirk, who had complained that he was pushed in the back without a foul being called, said a couple of days later that he was "shocked" to be sent to the showers so quickly. Some Mavs folks hinted that it's no coincidence that Kennedy was miked up for the broadcast that night.

"He just wasn’t having nothing," Dirk said a couple of days later. "He was actually pretty fired up from the beginning on. The first play of the game he already started yelling at the players. For some reason, he was pretty hardcore the other day. I shouldn’t have reacted. I just should have known."

Beware: Salvatore and Kennedy, joined by Michael Smith, will be working at the AAC tonight.

I can assure you that Mark Cuban will at least be pleased not to see Danny Crawford, considering the Mavs win about one of 20 playoff games he works.

I think Dirk and Kidd want this game too much to screw around. We're gonna kick butt tonight.

Of course this crap would happen. The most important game in the series and its Salvatore.

Its a joke that this guy is still allowed to ref Mavs games.

I know the lyrics have no relevance whatsoever, but I'm getting fired up....

Quote:
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
Hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new land,
To fight the horde, sing and cry: Valhalla, I am coming!

On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are young overlords.

On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing.
ah ah ah....ah....

kick some bitch spur ass.

Its a joke that this guy is still allowed to ref Mavs games.
I'm gonna hold off on "most important game of the series" for a little bit.

AAC definitely needs a clip of Dirk playing that song on his sax. JJB and Roddy on accordian and bass guitar?

Whoever we put on Manu, my opinion is that person only needs to be disciplined and limit him as much as possible. He's going to score a lot. But if he's the only one making plays (or, say, he and Duncan are the only two making plays), the Mavs will win. The real trouble comes when Manu is not only scoring but also being allowed to set up everyone else. 30+ points doesn't concern me nearly as much as 20+ points and 8+ assists.

Hate the Spurs. Hate them. I don't care how, I just want them beat. Slaughtered. Kick them until they cry in pain writhing on the ground, and then kick them between the legs. Multiple times. Then shoot them.
