This thread is perhaps pointless considering Cuban doesn't want any contracts longer than 1 year but is there any tradeable pieces the Mavs have to maybe "rent a center?" Or is there any wings that they might bring in... a la Pavlovic/Peja/Brewer last year.

JR Smith. A cold blooded shooter to pair with Dirk. I wish... Probably like every other player in the NBA he would like more than a one year contract. Hell the mavs aren't even offering high dollar one year bids. Low balling guys on top of offering a year contract.

Does anyone have a solid idea of whether the Mavs are below the luxury tax line? I think that will give us a better idea if Cuban is inclined to do anything. Am guessing that Cuban and Donnie will probably let the trade exceptions expire and possibly look at flipping Odom for additional value, but not sure if that's going to be possible at this point.

Odom put us over the lux tax line. Lamar is eligible to be traded February 11. Carter can't be traded until March 1.

As for the China dudes I know kenyon martin is an asshole but he could really help this team with his defense. He actually did pretty decent at center in his limited time there last year.
