Default The Next Blake Griffin

Got to see him tonight at torey pines. Aaron Gordon, here is a mix on him. He needs to grow an inch or 2 though, class of 2013. His handles are vastly improved. This is from last year. Expect him to end up at Washington.

I'm up in Norcal, so I had the chance to catch a game about 2 weeks ago. Been following him since his brother was developing the same following about 5 years ago. Drew Gordon's at New Mexico after a failed attempt at UCLA with Howland. I thought Drew was more Griffin than Aaron is, only because Drew's game was more in the paint as a true 4/5, but Drew got by with God given ability, and didn't really develop footwork. Aaron seems like he's trying to developed a game for a 3 this past summer. He's handling the ball more and stepping outside the paint to score this season. With another year of HS ball left, he will be scary. I wish some of these Bay Area kids would stay at Stanford or Cal, but understandable if they feel a Pro game can evolve outside of the area.

Heard that Dematha's BeeJay Anya was also putting on a show too.

Mitty had Gordon running some point in their last game against Winward:

Quote:
Aaron Gordon 6-foot-7 F Archbishop Mitty (2013): Gordon started slow, but thrived once he was moved to the point guard position. The five-star prospect had 20 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists in which could be considered an 'off-night' for the junior. Washington made their presence known by standing under the Mitty basket for the second straight night and are the leader for Gordon at this point.

Yeah Anya was a beast as for Drew if he had it do over again he would have went to Washington he and his family have a great relationship with Coach Romar, and it hasn't changed with family so it looks like Aaron will end up at Washington. Aaron does dribble drive a lot more now and is devoloping a nice perimeter game, I think it matters how he grows if he will play the 3 or 4 in the NBA. He is a stud though, he was playing PG on offense and center on defense. An under the radar player to look at is Anthony January, he would be more highly recruited if he had his grades in order, he is a freak athlete and seems to be playing with agression he hasn't played with before. The problem though is he has some attitude issues and it is still doubtful he will be able to qualify for next year. He wants to go to UNLV or SDSU but neither have given offers because of the qualifying questions.

One last thing watching Drew at UNM he is talented but a head case when 1 or 2 calls dont go his way he tunes out, he is a very bad passer from the post, and his post defense is poor, also he isn't as explosive as Aaron is. Very good rebounder though.
