He'll probably hit one at the buzzer. Because buzzer beaters against us are like layups.

Unless you're talking about Jason Kidd layups, in which case buzzer beaters against us have a higher success rate than layups.

lol ok here's a better one: buzzer beaters against us are as automatic as Dirk free throws.

It's amazing our Mavs are going to get their rings tonight...The same rings that so many claimed confidently they would never get. However, we really have to try to get a W tonight. The Wolves are hungry (No pun intended) so we have to be ready. I know a ceremony like this can be draining but I really hope we can get this win.
PS- I'm so happy Peja and JJ will be around :')

We will win tonight but without Dirk we must fight for it. So I give this offering to the boys on a special night. Play well and remember:

Can't wait to see Rubio in person.
I talked to Love during shootaround...the guy has lost a LOT of weight during the offseason. He doesn't strike me as a massively tall guy, so that impresses me even more with his determination and positioning powers in regards to rebounding.

Oh man, you're going love this guy, he's JKidd about 20 years ago, the swag, maybe about 20 pounds lighter, but geez, JKidd is probably the best comparison. Though I think Rubio has a slight edge in the half court at this stage, the court vision, the passing, able to snuff out plays defensively.....

Roddy will destroy Rubio tonight. And if not, I'll blame Kidd for defensive breakdowns and JET for taking too many bad shots on offense.

Carlisle brought the Nash comparison into the mix, based on his ability to keep the dribble live and poke and prod the defense.
I definitely agree with your J-Kidd assessment. He's listed at 6-4...I go back to saying, if the listed height is legit (and its not), I'm 6-5, 6-6.

There are 2 guys that Odom plays especially well against... Blake Griffin and Kevin Love.
Odom held Love scoreless before. I wouldn't expect scoreless tonight but it should be well below his average 25ppg/14rbds

Yea, I've seen the Nash comparisons too, but the shooting.
His shots fallen off the past handful of games though, which makes sense based on scouting reports. His numbers are very close to Kidd's rookie year numbers right now. 10.7 PPG vs 11.7, 8.5 assists vs 7.7, 38 percent from the floor.

With the Mavs having one less 7 footer, I'm gonna go out on a limb (not really) and say Love finishes with more than 14 rebounds.

LO's kept Love below his average rebounds in prior meetings.
Love's Season Average 25pts,14rbds,43FG%
So I'm going to guess
<13rbds
<20points
or
<38FG% (Love does jack them up sometimes to pad his stats)
If Love scores more than 20, he'll be doing it at a low percentage.
If Rick doesn't put LO on Love, then all bets are off.

Doesn't look like League Pass is going to start the game early, so I can't see the ring ceremony. Is this (legally) being streamed somewhere?

Now that you mention it he really does have some similarities to Nash, but he's more similar to a young Kidd imho. He's going to be a great player in this league. About his height though, how tall do you think he really is?
