Got home in time to see the final possession. Tyson with a monster stat line. Monta with the kill shot. Mavs win!

Crazy shot..
Tyson Chandler is an amazing player. So glad he's a mav again.

This team keeps finding ways to win. Still, Parsons has got to play better. You can't keep on bricking those open threes and the poor decision making on drives is even more concerning.
It can't be overstated how incredible Tyson has been. He's a top 5 center right now.

He actually has played better these last 4 games...
If you want him to score 50+. Then that wouldn't be a team game.

Never said I want him to score 50+, don't know how you got that from my comment. He's been a measurably worse player than with Houston the year previous, which is a concern for a team that relies on him to compete in this brutal conference.
He's shooting in the low 30s from three. That simply won't cut it. At best in the past few games he's looked like the Parsons of last year, which is a decent role player. Silver lining is that his defense has been quite good which has mitigated his offensive problems.
I like Parsons and would love to see him put it together. I think he is quite capable too, which is why this start has been so frustrating. He's getting looks just as good if not better than last year and yet he is shooting several percentage points worse.

i agree that he's been playing better, but i dont want you shooting bricks all game long, there's a point in the game when the ball goes to the alpha dog, right now monta or dirk, plus ur not motherfucking kevin durant, u have one awful jump shot u just cant take that shot and on top of all that he was 1 for6

Ellis officially in the MVP conversation now. Couldn't be happening to a better guy. I would and could say more, but words can't really sum up what he's done the past couple weeks. I'm speechless.

Im not complaining, he deserved to get away with it.
Cant imagine how frustrated it has to be, getting whacked at offense all the time with no call but getting hammered with weak fouls at D

If we can really get Chandler Parsons going and Dirk healthy to go along with the level of play that we've been getting from Ellis, Chandler and the rest of the team . . . damn

Can you stop saying that already? You honestly keep saying that, as if any criticism against his playing is blasphemy. Nobody wants him to score 50 pts a game. We just want him to be more assertive and shoot better than 41 percent. Please forgive us for wanting our players to play better.

And that's precisely why I would like to see Parsons reach his potential. If this team can start clicking on all cylinders it has a puncher's chance in this conference.

Who exactly are you addressing? People here or Nba fans in general? Monta hasn't gotten criticism here in a long time.

both, go read the threads of a week ago and u'll see stuff like, he cant shoot, why does he get the ball on clutch moments, why does he shoot so much, and stupid stuff like that, hes underrated big time in general, with stupid fans who only know nba ball from watching highlights on youtube of games of cavs, okc ,nyc and shit so really good players like him never get to the all star game, its a shame

I know it's a smaller sample size, but he's somehow better now than he was during our championship season...
2010-11: 10.1 PPG / 9.4 RPG / 0.4 APG / 1.1 BPG / 3.2 PF
2014-15: 10.9 PPG / 11.4 RPG / 1.4 APG / 1.5 BPG / 2.4 PF

If you're referring to Nba fans in general, I hear you. But I have been reading threads. I come here alot. And I haven't found what you're talking about. Now if he makes a bad play, yes it will be mentioned in a game thread, as will anyone else who makes a bad play. No one is immune from criticism after making a bad play/poor decision. Not even Dirk.

Going from 3.2PF to 2.4PF is huge. I can only think of one game this season where he really got into foul trouble. Was it the Miami game or the San Antonio game? I'm pretty sure it was one of the ones we lost.

I think the sequence of events below highlight what I feel like Tyson brings to the Mavs. It begins with the Larry Sanders monster dunk with 4:22 left in the 4th quarter and ends with him checking out of the game collecting his 5th foul. Tyson bullies the bullies.
4:22 90-98 Larry Sanders makes two point shot (Kendall Marshall assists)
4:20 Mavericks Full timeout
(Larry Sanders performs choreographed dance with teammates during time out)
4:20 Tyson Chandler enters the game for Brandan Wright 90-98
4:07 Tyson Chandler makes layup (Monta Ellis assists) 92-98
4:07 92-98 Khris Middleton shooting foul (Tyson Chandler draws the foul)
4:07 Tyson Chandler misses free throw 1 of 1 92-98
4:05 Al-Farouq Aminu offensive rebound 92-98
3:56 Monta Ellis makes 18-foot jumper 94-98
3:42 94-98 Jerryd Bayless bad pass
3:31 Chandler Parsons misses 26-foot three point jumper 94-98
3:30 94-98 Jabari Parker defensive rebound
3:18 94-98 Jerryd Bayless misses 16-foot jumper
3:16 Chandler Parsons defensive rebound 94-98
3:09 Monta Ellis misses 26-foot three point jumper 94-98
3:08 Tyson Chandler offensive rebound 94-98
2:57 Jameer Nelson misses 27-foot three point jumper 94-98
2:57 Tyson Chandler offensive rebound 94-98
2:57 94-98 Larry Sanders loose ball foul (Tyson Chandler draws the foul)
2:57 Tyson Chandler makes free throw 1 of 2 95-98
2:57 95-98 Zaza Pachulia enters the game for Larry Sanders

Our entire bench was minus and our starting line up was plus this game. Hope the bench gets their rest for Friday.

He was pretty good the past 4-5 games until tonight. Had a few bad bricks tonight but it happens.

Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see Tyson back... maybe more for nostalgic reasons at the time, as there were a few other centers higher on my wish list, all factors considered. But damn if he hasn't been a top-5 center in the league so far, without a doubt.

San Antonio - first game of the season, 5 fouls... He also collected 5 last night, but kept from fouling out in 2 OTs. Otherwise, he hasn't gotten into any foul trouble this season.
Definitely a huge upgrade from his last stint with us, where we had to regularly rely on Haywood because Tyson was often in foul trouble.

Watch how he was directing the defense during the last quarter. He was ALL OVER IT. And the Mavs were very stingy in the fourth. He's just great.
Monta....damn boy.
