He has been as good as could have been expected this season. Does somewhat pull the heart strings to have to trade him after he finally developed and understood his role. He's a great fit for the Celts. Good luck!

Hope so - one of my favorites. Love efficient scorers that understand their role, and Wright did that in spades.

@RobMahoney: Reminder that Brandan Wright was a player DAL signed for the minimum, cultivated in-system, re-signed at value, and traded for Rajon Rondo.

That would be awesome!
He leaves a big hole in our second unit and his absence constitutes a big hit to our offense in my opinion.
Wherever he plays, I hope he continues his development, maybe even into a premier starter-type over the next few years - if it hapens back in Dallas, all the better.

Best of luck to Brandan. He came a long way in Dallas, and the trade to Boston should be a great opportunity for him to showcase his talent in a larger role.

He's an amazing athlete. I wish him the best. I hope our front office gets a good backup center.

This is really sad. I was literally just thinking about this dude earlier today. Im not sure who all we're getting back but Brandon Wright is about as good of a backup center out there and this definitely will hurt out depth.
I hope you guys are right that we can somehow get him back later. But till then, love you, big guy! Keep doing you!

No one will miss you more that Derek Harper, but many of us Dallas fans will always remember the incredible dunks and blocks you made for this team. Sadly, I don't think the Mavericks can bring you back next year, but it'd be fantastic if something can be worked out. We don't want to be without you for a full year. We love you man!

Brandan Wright is the latest example that the Mavs, while not very good at the real draft, are pretty good at the "secondary draft", which is taking recent high draft picks that have fallen out of favor and reinventing their career.
This is a huge development win for the Mavs and I'm happy Wright got his career back on track.
I don't think it's very likely at all that he's back, given what our salary situation will be, but I wish him well.

I'm going to miss him a hell of a lot. Dude busted ass. We picked him up off the scrap heap and he hustled every single play. 0pts, 4reb, on 75% shooting. Dude played his way up and his reward was going to the freaking Celtics.
On the other hand, we got him for free, rehabbed him, and got a star who may get back to superstar status.

He played great but unfortunately mostly against the EC garbage....against Memphis etc they pushed him around in the paint like a little boy. He is maybe a solid EC center, but not in the west.
But hey, maybe we see him back for the mini-MLE...but guessing thats not enough
Please fix his name in the title....that hurts

Obviously very efficient exciting player, but beyond that he seemed like a genuinely nice guy and a good teammate. I'm sad we're trading him but hope he sees it as complimentary that he was traded for a player of Rondo's caliber.

Any athletic PF/C available? Losing Wright means we don't have that alley-oop option when Tyson gets benched. Easy points gone.

Ahh, my man Brandan "The Helicopter" Wright. Even though it used to drive me nuts when bigger guys at the 4 & 5 would score on him you could tell he was always playing his hardest out there. I'm gunna miss his floaters, hook shots and his lefty slams. This guy provided so much to our offense. I hope he comes back home sometime in the future.

Wright developed nicely over the years gotta give him and coach credit. I liked him because of his unique skill set, but he never was a great fit in Carlisle's system. Here goes lob city

One of the nicest guys to step into that locker room. Always generous with his time before and after a game. Was always willing to talk about anything. Loves his Tennessee Titans. Probably to a fault, haha.

Great guy to have on a team. Definitely looking forward to see how he's going to perform with more playing time and touches. Best of luck to him

Btw Erica, I think you have some slight typo in that bolded part. 0 points?

Really hope he comes back this offseason. Just a quiet, humble guy who has one of the slickest inside games in the league and punishes teams for cheating off him to defend guards. Sparkplug guys are important, even if he didn't do particularly well against big guys like Gasol.

I've been following Brandan loosely since high school. He went to high school a block away from my office building - caught a few of his high school games. Was excited when he joined the mavs, just for a chance to follow him on a team I actually liked. It was nice to see him grow.
Hope he does well in Boston, and that he does come back next year.
