what the hell?
I don't even care about basketball anymore (haven't since after the Mavs won the championship)... fan since 1992, when I was in 1st grade. Grew to hate the NBA and was either gonna quit it when Dirk retired or when we won the big one, and we did.
BUT... I'm thinking of coming out of retirement
anything to be excited about for this season? or will I be wasting my time?
I know Bob Ortegal retired, so there goes half my reason for caring in the first place, ya dig?
ANGIE!!!!!!!! ANGIE!!!!! MC HAMGIE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Team should be able to shoot lights out...if they are healthy.
Parsons no longer needs to pretend to be a catch and shoot player. He can now drive and dish to Williams, Matthews, or Dirk to his heart's content.

Don't like the Mavs? Don't watch them.
I've lowered my expectations for the team this year a lot and cancelled my LP, but I'm still a fan and I'll be watching as many games as i have time for

JaVale McGee "bone-headed plays" drinking game.

I didn't realize going sober would be exciting, but I think you're right. Look forward to doing my part.

It's likely to be a lot like those 90s teams you grew up watching, so yay nostalgia.

Center
Zaza- Zhi Zhi/LaFrentz - the jump-shooting center
Dalembert - Bradley - the defensive beast always in the doghouse
McGee - Eschmeyer
PF
Young Dirk - Old Dirk
Evans - Najera - scrappy players with limited skills
SG
Finley - Matthews - the sharp-shooting SG with limited handles, but excellent drive
PG
Nash - Williams - the disrespected point guard
Hardaway - Harris - the scrappy vet
Barea - Johnson - the scrappy short guy
I want to say that Parsons is a huge difference. Obviously Dirk 2016 isn't as good as Dirk 2002. I really hope that Parsons/Matthews are our stars and not our Tariq Abdul-Wahad

This team might semi-suck (is that a term?) but I think it will be pretty damn fun to watch most of the time. It's fun to discover what we might be able to build on.

We're the underdog. How can this season not be exciting? While it'd be nice to keep the team together from season to season it also excites me to see new faces. I will definitely miss Tyson Chandler, but I think the Phoenix Suns will be a terrific fit for him. It'll be lots of fun to see them play this year.
This won't be the most exciting Mavs team to ever watch, but I really am anxious to see what they have in store for us.

The way I see it... we could either win 35 games or possibly closer to 50. So many what-ifs with this team. If Parsons/Wesley can recover well from their injuries, if Deron can revive his career, if McGee can get healthy and return to form, if Dirk can have a bounce-back season in terms of efficiency, etc... if all that happens we can be pretty damn good. But it's entirely possible that none of those things come to fruition. We'll just have to wait and see. Either way I'll be invested into the season like always. Always excited to watch Mavs basketball.

Apathy is our biggest enemy. It's training camp and we've had zero posts today. That's sad.
