GDT game 40 - Bulls (13-25) at Mavs (13-26) 7:30 FSSW
Both teams may have terrible records, but both teams have either been hot (Bulls once reeled off 7 straight and 10 of 12 and Mavs were 4-0 for a stretch before falling to the Warriors). Both teams are coming in trying to get back to winning.
Mavs 5-5 over last 10 (4-1 over last 5)
Bulls 5-5 over last 10 (2-3 over last 5)

Yeah, this is probably a must-lose game -- knocking us down to earth after the last 5 games might be the only way to shake our confidence and help us get back on track for a top-6 pick... A win tonight puts us at #7, with the needle pointing even further toward mediocrity.

The main problem is having your star rookie and Uber both wanting to win. I think Smith wants to win more than anyone. If he is healthy, then they are going to play. You can't let the leash off of a motivated, energetic rookie and then tell him to tank.
I have a hard time getting upset over something I can't personally control anyway. And games are a lot more fun to watch lately.
I think it makes the trade deadline a lot more interesting as well. If you can add a big young talent, then we don't have to worry as much about the draft.

Battle of the "13ths", but since Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, and Cartwright are out, the Mavs win the 14th and the 1st of an upcoming 13 win streak....
Mavs - 123
BullTanks - 103

JJ and Harris are so great and playing for the wrong team.

Win or lose these games have been fun to watch last 10 games or so. Has a lot to do with how much DSJ has improved so quickly. And I genuinely enjoy watching Powell now. Never thought I’d say that

I think I've seen DSJ get called for more palming violations this year than I have all players in the last decade.

Love to see some fire from Powell. I really hope he finds that four-letter word mentality.

Smith has no second banana beta in him. He is going to be a beast.

A little biased but mostly they just let them push, shove, claw and otherwise manhandle. A thousand fouls and they randomly call 2-3. It’s absurd and makes basketball look terrible.

Mess showed up for a stretch somewhere around the 5 minute mark on both ends of the floor in the 4th and it was not a good time to do so.
Even tho we meed another long losing streak..that one was a Crotch kick.

Rick waited too long to put Smith back in in the 4th. This is why we need to get rid of a guard or two.
