GDT Game 82 - Mavs (24-57) vs Suns (20-61) 7:30pm FSSW
Suns already clinched the worst record in the league, they have very little motivation to tank this game (except to spoil our record)... Mavs are currently in a three-way tie with Atlanta and Orlando, so we could really use the loss.
No messing around, let's tank this bitch and call it a season.

Active players is going to be key. DSJ and DP already listed at questionable. Barnes played 43 minutes last game. But Phoenix didn't even suit up the top half of it's roster for the last home game which was also Fan Appreciation Night. Hard to imagine them bringing those players back for a final road game.
I'm afraid we still have a decent chance of a win unless
DSJ and DP both sit
Barnes doesn't play in the second half or only gets 5 minutes at the start of each half
Yogi get very limited minutes as well
maybe even McBuckets gets limited minutes
Collinsworth, Harrison, and Jones have to carry us to a loss
Hell, maybe RC gets a double-T ejection early in first half. Call out all the stops!!!

Dennis is the only reason people would walk inside the AAC tonight. No way he sits.
He's also been very good at distributing the ball lately and needs all the practice he can get to keep developing his skills.

I mean, if Cuban gets fined for saying it, what happens to the Suns? Ridiculous that Silver picks and chooses what to punish and sends out a super duper mean memo to teams, and then is soft as Charmin to not enforce it. Eff Silver and the Suns. Lose the damn game, but it will be incredibly difficult with almost their entire regular rotation out.

I think the most likely scenarios are the two center ones in which the Hawks and Magic lose their final game.
That means that the difference between a win and a loss is :
+/- 13% chance of a top 3 pick
+/- 28% chance of a 6th overall
If we lose, we increase our odds a lot at the top 3 and decrease our odds of a sixth overall. If we win...well the opposite is true.

Wizards are 2-8 for their last 10. Their #8 playoff spot is pretty secure with a slight chance of moving up to #7.
Sixers are winning with Ben Simmons looking great.
So it's not inconceivable that Orlando wins, Atlanta and Dallas lose.

"Injury" report as reported by Scott Bell:
Suns:
Devin Booker
Alan Williams
Josh Jackson
Marquese Chriss
Troy Daniels
Elfrid Payton
TJ Warren
Tyson Chandler
Isaiah Canaan
Brandon Knight
Mavs:
DSJ
Harrison Barnes
Doug McDermott
Dirk Nowitzki
JJ Barea
Wes Matthews
Seth Curry
I wouldn't have minded Yogi being on there as well, but at least DSJ and Barnes are sitting to match what Phoenix is trotting out there.
Should we have over/under on Motley three point attempts???

He's going to announce that a meteor fell to earth and inside was a restoration pod. He will climb into it tomorrow and will be able to climb out eleven days before the 2018-2019 season, with the body of a 19-year-old and is going to shoot to become the first player in NBA history to play 40 years with a single team.

So...
Motley/Mejri
Powell/Kleber
DFS
Jones/Collinsworth
Yogi
So only 8 guys. I still think we win. We're just too well coached.

No talk of a meteor yet, but Dirk says in the presser that assuming the ankle rehab goes well, he intends to be back for a record breaking 21st season with your Dallas Mavericks.
(Sigh of relief) . . . I was worried he may have had a change of heart.

Dirk officially coming for for season 21!! Looking forward to him coming off the bench with Curry, JJB, and McDermott forming the most potent second unit in the league.

Given the remaining players available, maybe the game should be moved to Frisco. Definitely going to have a G-League feel to it.

JJ saying he'd love for Dirk to come off the bench with him next season... Personally, I'd love to see that.

I always thought it made more sense to start him since he's already warm. If he starts the game on the bench it's going to take him 10 min to get his body moving again. Although him and JJ have a killer 2 man game.

Bingo, I think it's JJ presence that really makes that idea work... Throw Powell into the mix and that would be a helluva 2nd unit.

Motley has a really soft touch to his shot, dude sinks a lot of stuff that looks like it should clank out.

Too bad Jalen Jones has nothing to gain by losing... That's kinda the double-edged sword with playing just the young guys -- most of them are FAs this summer.
