Default GDT: MAVS VS OKC 7:30PM

Maybe Luka maybe not as of now.

We need to win every single winnable game amd this is a winnable game. Lets keep it rolling.

Luka Doncic has been downgraded to doubtful for tonight's game against OKC.

WCS is also questionable with a thumb sprain

Oh boy. This is not good. We got fleeced by Atlanta. Maybe we can package him and KP and get a few veteran pieces.

Hopefully KP asserts himself early and is aggressive.

Really curious to see how we defend Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who is having a 50/40/80 season. He's basically a poor man's version of Luka and leads the league in drives. No way Brunson can guard him.

This is why I'm a bit disappointed with Josh Richardson.

He was supposed to give them a good on ball defender for those types of guys and take defensive pressure off Luka.

But that simply hasn't happened yet.

Brunson is never going to be a good defender because he's small and not very athletic.

Unfortunately this franchise just hasn't been able to field a good defensive team in 10 years now

I think Luka is sitting out mainly to rest up before All-Star weekend.

But I also hope they are they are evaluating a few guys one more time before the trade deadline.

If Johnson could just stop taking 3’s that would be great.

That’s silly. You don’t rest a player for All Star weekend. He wanted to play and was over ruled. He’s been having back issues for a week or 2.

He's resting right?

Doesn't matter if he wanted to play the bottom line is he's resting now

Yes, but not because he is resting for AS weekend like you said. He’s resting because the coaching/medical staff told him to.

This Half just confirmed we don't have anyone who can create their own offense or be a playmaker to get others open shots.

Really would have liked to see RC call more set plays instead of just letting guys try to get theirs one on one.

Post up KP a little more or get him some touches and shots in the mid range area.

Huge difference in the ball movement vs Orlando where they really tried swinging the ball often where several players touched it.

This is where I thought Burke was going to big for us this season after his performance in the bubble, but he’s been a non factor most of the season.

I think once Carlisle realized that Burke and Brunson are too small defensively in the backcourt to play extended minutes together he scrapped that tandem.

Now you might see them once or twice a game for few minutes...

Burke is more of a small SG as opposed to a PG.

He doesn't operate very well being asked to run the offense that's why when he's the floor with James Johnson they let Johnson initiate the offense.

We should trade Burke. He's a very good player when playing for the right team. Last year's Mavs were the right team for him.

Based on this thread you would think we are losing by 30. Cheer up Mavs fans, we are blowing a team out without our best player.

Ugly win no doubt but 18-16 is ok considering how they looked a month ago.

8/40 on three's was terrible and luckily KP hit a few or else it would have been even uglier.

I wish this team would learn that when the 3 isn't falling put in more effort to drive and get layups as opposed to continuing to hoist them.....

I believe they will make the playoffs and catch San Antonio for the division title but I'm still afraid with the way the roster is currently constructed they will be another 1st round exit unless additional help comes via the trade deadline.

Yeah, the Mavs have now won 9 of their last 11 games. I'd say that's quite a turnaround from a few weeks ago when the season was an unmitigated disaster.

Gotta hand it to this team for the turn around. A few weeks ago playoffs weren’t something that was plausible based on their play. Won 9 of 11. I don’t think any top 8 team falls out. The Mavs are going to have to force their way into the top 8.

Congrats they finally showed up on defense, ironically OKC is one of the worst offensive teams in the NBA but hey I'll take it.

Now we just need those two guys to bring it when these guys show up at their doorsteps

Paul
Lillard
Curry
Murray

If they can bring it vs that group then it increases the team chances of of actually beating those teams for once right?

There’s not much else to it. The Mavericks won scoring 87 points while only adding 12 points in the fourth. The team shot 38 percent from the floor and a measly 20 percent from three. But the Mavericks won because the Thunder were even worse. Hardaway and Porzingis led the way with 19 apiece, Richardson added 16, and Brunson tallied 12 points, six rebounds and four assists in a spot start. Ugly wins still count, this season especially. Two games above .500, baby.

This game was not a complete dud bro. They kept their streak going without their best player and they played solid defense, regardless of it being OKC.

Yea, Harp isn't great. Plus it annoys me that almost everything witty and funny goes right over his head or he never goes with it and Skin ends up flapping in the wind because Harp is a dud. Followill is ok but I don't like him outside of the broadcast. His Twitter is especially annoying.

He said they shared the ball and moved it better which I disagree they often looked stagnant going one on one.

Defensively, it was hard to say because OKC is a bad offensive team.

So, I'm say KP was just giving his analysis of the team and not really dissing Luka.

Besides aren't they allegedly good friends?

That was not my quote, it's from mavsmoneyball

The writer of that article did give the Mavs credit for winning the game....

I'm glad that the writer gave us credit for winning, because, you know, we did win.

OKC just beat the 7th seeded Spurs.

1) OKC is still dangerous and I can't believe people were disregarding the win because OKS doesn't have a great record.

2) They did us a huge favor because we're going to want to climb higher than #8 and Spurs are our next target after the ASB
