I sure hope they win because they have been know for letting teams on a losing streak all of sudden play above their heads vs Dallas.

Dude's who usually haven't done jack all year will somehow find a groove vs the Mavs

Does it make you wonder why the Mavs continually get off to bad/slow starts?

Why do they seem to struggle out of the gates especially since it has been so critical in deciding their games this year.

I don't expect perfection out of the coaching staff but at some point you should have the team prepared to come out ready and focused playing with an edge

Set a tone early
The Mavericks have famously not lost a single game this season where they lead after the first quarter. In 19 contests where they lead after one, they have not lost. Which also means they’ve only won 11 games where they weren’t leading after the first 12 minutes. In these last bumpy six games the Mavericks have not led once after the first quarter.

They either set a tone or they don’t.

It is an odd and unique indicator of how locked in the Mavericks are on any given night. It would be nice to see them step on the floor and take some aggression out early and perhaps extend that first quarter streak to 20.

They get away with it because fans are so laid back at Mavs home games. You'll never hear anyone boo their ass like they would do in Philly or New York for example.

The coach is a laid back guy and team in general has no fiery type of guys (Patrick Beverly)

They will come out settling for quick 3's instead of even attacking the rim to set a tone

But he seems to be the only guy in most 1st QTR's that can deliver points.
