NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Forward Brent Gilchrist, an unrestricted free agent who has played in the NHL for 14 years, signed with the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 35-year-old Gilchrist played 45 games this past season with Detroit and the Stars, scoring three goals and adding six assists. He has 134 goals and 168 assists in his career. He was with the Detroit Red Wings when they won the Stanley Cup in 1998.
"He is a veteran, character player who will be a leader with the Nashville Predators, and he will get the opportunity to play a more significant role in a variety of situations on the ice," said Predators general manager David Poile.
