I don't care for it. I suppose it can be funny in some of the Lounge threads, such as the Word Association type threads, but honestly it just creates more crap I have to scroll past.

I think there are two kinds of post padding. The one who adds some value or fun to the site and the other who doesn't give anything.
Also, if somebody is making post padding but bringing fun or something interesting at the same time, I think it's valid. But there is the sterile post padding: the one clearly intended to increase the poster's posts.

Can someone please explain the big payout one gets and how many posts are needed?
When I become a Diamond member to a get diamond jewelry? In other words, who care who post pads?! BTW, I never got my Junior Mints when I became a junior member, my Member's Only jacket when I became a member, my Senior Citizen discount card when I became a Senior member, my gold coin when I became a Golden member, or my Platinum ring when I became a Platinum member. Okay in Lounge topics usually. I don't like it when new members come in & blatently post-pad w/no content whatsoever or use 10 posts to post one thought or start 25 different & completely irrelevent threads in order to lose the new member stigma. Post-padding is a long-lived tradition which would be a shame to lose, but it has its place.
